Message I've found what looks to be a pretty good deal on a 95-NA auto-tranny:

77k miles @ $11,999

CARFAX shows this to be a 1-owner car, even though it's being sold by a dealer, and the rest of the report looks good.

Living in L.A., I can definitely vibe on the automatic transmission(and I don't plan to race). Do the automatic transmissions break frequently? And if so, are they complicated to fix (i.e. high labor costs, expensive parts, hard-to-find parts)?

The other ride I'm eyeing is:

1996 NA (5-speed), 70k miles @ $12,999

But all this talk about the more complex computer has got me a little scared for the future. Low production run, with so many detail changes, can easily equal "impossible to find parts". In fact, I think I just answered my question with this last statement! (funny how that happens sometimes) :)

Thx for all the advice so far.
